The Happy Team

Amy Appleby is the lead Therapist at Happy Healthy Holistic. She provides treatments and runs workshops for individuals and organisations, helping people to become happier, healthier, relaxed, more efficient and therefore, more effective.

A few words from Amy:

I always find it inspiring at the end of a session to see my clients transformed, glowing and full of joy. Whether I am working with individuals or with groups, the aim of my work is to help you to be happy, contented and relaxed.

I stumbled across meditation and yoga in 1988 and thus began a journey which I continue today. Training in therapeutic techniques in the UK, India and the USA, I have been influenced by a broad range of approaches which I incorporate into my treatments and workshops.

Having worked within the NHS, I have a solid grounding in Anatomy and Physiology, a working knowledge of a wide range of health conditions and a good understanding of the mechanics of the NHS.

I have travelled independently throughout the world, meditating with monks in China, studying massage in India, dancing in open markets in Ghana - this influences the way I move, work, think, and how I can help you to release some of the restrictions modern life places on our minds and bodies.

All of these experiences help me to better understand your state of health, wellbeing and what you hope to achieve through engaging in complementary therapy. Following an initial health and lifestyle consultation, taking into account your goals of treatment, I combine different therapies and approaches to suit your individual needs.

My professional and academic qualifications include:

  • ITEC Diplomas in Reflexology, Holistic Massage, and Anatomy & Physiology
  • Certificates in Indian Head Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Stretching
  • Usui Reiki 1, 2 & 3 (Reiki Master)
  • Certified Instructor of Healthy Steps Dance & Movement (The Lebed Method)
  • BA Anthropology
  • MSc Development Studies

I have limited spaces in my diary for private clients (but I do happily accept new clients!) as I predominately work at events running workshops and treating individuals on-site within a variety of businesses, organisations and charities.

Please do get in touch to check my availability and to take a positive step towards a happier, healthier you!
